Thank You for All Responses. I have found a way to build and set my ringtones. I will give you the method that someone responded to me.
1. Cut any piece of music to under 30 seconds. (less than 200KB).
2. Transform mp3 to a 56/22050 frequency.
3. upload to Verizon and create a picture message and send to my phone with the tone as an attachment.
4. Now when I receive it and get to save it, it allows me to save as ringtone. All other ways did not work for me. If you are having trouble, try this method.

How can I transform the mp3 to a 56/22050 file?   Are there any free programs out there?

For free I use:

Goldwave
http://www.goldwave.com/release.php#download

You also have to install an mp3 codec called LAME.

LAME MP3 - From the Free-Codecs.com website. Despite its name, LAME is perhaps the best free MP3 encoder available.

Instructions
Download and open the zip file to extract the lame_enc.dll file (PKZIP or WinZip may be needed to extract the file if you are not using Windows ME or XP/Vista). Copy the lame_enc.dll  file into the folder where GoldWave is installed  (usually C:\Program Files\GoldWave) or copy it into the C:\Windows\System (or equivalent) folder.

When you save the 20-30 sec clip of your choice, you will notice an attribute link, just change the attributes.  I had my best luck with using mp3 clips under 350KB.

Sorry to say I had to pay for mine. I purchased a pgm called CD Extractor quite a few years ago. But I guess the free ones work just as well.

Thanks for the instructions.   Worked like a charm.

I,also, showed only the two options until I went back to the files on my media card and saved them as mp3.  When I inserted the card and went through the steps the "Save As Ringtone" option appeared.

Guys, Google Howard Forums and lookup the info there. I use (for my w755 and have been told the process is the same) Motorola Software Update and P2KCommander running in conjunction. MSU gets the phone's folders unlocked so that, using P2K, you can navigate to the phone's internal folders and add or delete content. For ringtones, it is a/brew/mod/my_ringers. If my information is incorrect, I apologize. The guys at HoFo are the experts.

I will be getting my used Krave soon. Question: how is it for someone who is getting nearsighted?

You can also get sounds onto the Krave as a ringtone by EMAILING the sound to yourself (your phone number@vzwpix.com) as an attachment. Then, when you receive and open the email, press the bell symbol on the message. The 4 options will now be available. Select the "save as ringtone" option. When you go to your sounds settings and view available ringtones, that ringtone will now be shown as a selectable ringtone.

*edit- Also, the sounds don't have to be mp3 format before emailing: when I sent a .wav format sound to my Krave, it automatically converted it to mp3.*

UPDATE: The process is the same. Programs needed are Motorola Software Update, P2KCommander 6.0 and sound editing software for cutting mp3s to 30 seconds or less. Also, a usb cable. Cut your mp3 to size (I use Audacity), connect phone with usb cord, start MSU, then P2K. Navigate to the proper folder on the phone and copy edited mp3 to the ringtone folder. For a step by step tutorial, I went to Howard Forums and also Mark Venture's webpage. They are absolute genius's when it comes to phone customization without paying Verizon extra to do it.
