Ok, so first off I am going to explain ORB for those who don't know what it is. Orb is a free program that you install on your computer at home, set up a safe account, and keep running all the time. You set up folders in ORB that contain your MP3 files, or videos, or even pictures - and ORB broadcasts your folders to you from another source. On your Krave, you can log in to the ORB site, and you can actually stream any of your music or other media thats back at your house! Its simply amazing. Forget your micro SD card. Try out ORB.

Setup for Orb.

1. Go to "www.Orb.com" and click on DOWNLOAD and select a site.
2. Install the program, and go thru the basic system check (just to make sure your computer is good enough to stream video, music, and other stuff)
3. It will ask if you want to set up for XBox, PS3 or something, just select no.
4. Now your ready, if you look in the bottom right there should be a green ORB symbol in the dock. Right click on it and select CONFIGURATION
5. If you use a TV card you can set tat up in the TV Tab, but i don't. In the MEDIA Tab, you can select what directories you want to broadcast. I have a folder on an external hard drive that has all of my music in it, so i selected just that. I also have a folder with a bunch of different formats of videos, and that is selected too. Everything else should be ready to go.
6. Now on your Krave open up the Browser and go to "http://mycast.orb.com"
7. Log in with your user and password, and when it loads scroll to the bottom and select "Settings"
8. In the SPEED Tab, put your Fixed Speed at 80kb/s (you can make it higher like, 160, if the quality seems to be bad)
9. Next click on the STREAM Tab, and make sure you select "3GP-AAC/RSTP format (.3gp)" and save and exit - This will make sure your mp3s and videos can play right on your cell phone. Amazing!
10. Now, your done! Lets say you wanna listen to an album but its only on your computer, simply go to the http://mycast.orb.com site (bookmark this) - log in, click on audio - Here you can set favorites, browse all your directories, see just albums or artists, ect... - Just find an MP3 you want, click on it, and give it a few seconds to stream.

This is probably the most amazing free service I have ever seen. I can’t believe its free. Its great on a computer too because you can set up folders to view documents and pictures ad stuff, but just the fact that most of us have cell phones, and most of us leave our computers on all the time - this is a perfect way to have all of your music, digital movies, and photos with you without filling up your 8gb micro SD card. In fact, I only have a 1GB card for photos and stuff. Now that I found orb, I really don’t see the need to pay for a new card. Its amazing.

Setup for streaming Sirius Satellite Radio on Orb.

ENJOY YOURSELF!

I assume you need a data plan to use Orb. Is this true?

Yeah, you would need either the unlimited data plan or pay the $1.99/MB but when streaming music over the phone it could get costly.

My question is that I've used ORB many times before on PDA's to stream TV from my Desktop at home connected to my cable.  What success if any have you had besides Music.  Have you tried to stream videos, movies, pictures via the KRAVE.  I didn't even think to try ORB on non-pda phone so I'm just curious.

I am applying for a new job, so once money starts rolling in I will be adding unlimited data to my plan, so I will let you know how ORB works on the Krave.
