I usually plug in my phone when I go to bed to charge overnight.  The last 2 nights when I've done this it has not charged at all.  I'm using the Motorola charger that came with the phone.  The battery is the original one.   It looks like it's charging, but it's not.  I did try to charge in the car today with a different charger (iGo charger from Radio Shack) which seemed to temporarily charge it.  But now (several hours later) I look at my phone & it's back down to 1 bar.  I do not use my phone much- at most an hour a day.  I've had my ZN4 since April & this is the first time this has happened.   Huh

Has anyone else had this problem?  Any suggestions?
FYI- I bought a backup battery online tonight, will get in a few days.

You could possibly try pulling the battery out and cleaning the contacts.  Long shot, I know.

I would take it into a Verizon store.  Issues like this are usually covered under a 1 year manufacturer warranty.  Complain a lot if it isn't.

I going to ask a dumb question, (trouble shooting 101). Is your charger in a switched outlet? (Do you have to turn a light switch on to get power?)

It is on a power strip, which is powered on (indicated by light).

never had the problem. could be a bad phone or bad charger. if the car charger is working, maybe it's a sign your wall charger isn't working. buy a new one for cheap on ebay or try a USB cable to your PC (after you have the driver downloaded from the moto web site)

I've had that same problem, but only with the charger that came with it. A friend has a RAZR2 and the charger for it will charge my phone without a problem! It even acts funny when it's plugged into the original charger! Sometimes it resets too... And when you plug it in, the battery indicator goes away...

I dunno...
