Or you can go to a verizon store and they'll update it for you. My Krave is really responsive now! Texting is so easier and quicker too. Also for texting, if you were trying to put "and", but you accidentally put "anf", it will recognize the mistake and change it to "and" for you. Very nice! Haven't tried the speed dial yet. How do even get to that?

I have noted the following differences in this firmware upgrade:

1) Back button bigger and more rounded to make it look more like the LG Dare.

2) Changed the dialpad and the keyboard to give it a more rounded look and more responsive to touch.

3) When the phone is places against your ear, instead of saying "push to unlock", you must slide a key over to a small padlock.

4) The option was added in the display settings to show the main menu upon flip open.

5) Overall increased sensitivity.

6) The phone sounds louder compared to before. (May just be me).

7) The brightness adjust is smoother and more realistic based on surroundings.

8.) Speed Dial

9) Added a "Go Back" button to the bottom of the side bar when looking up contacts by letter.

That has been all that I have noticed at the current time. Feel free to add anything I may have missed. Smiley

Speed Dial actually took me a while to figure out. Basically, when you're in your contacts list, hit the drop down menu up at the top by the back button and select the "Speed Dial" option. Assign your numbers from there, and you'll be speed dialing in no time!

I definetely agree with #1 & #10 on your list. If motorola can put out an upgrade to resolve those two issues this phone would be super sweet. I would also like to have the ability to text with the lid closed.

I agree with the list, but would add one more thing.

You know how most phones (all phones I've ever used) have a way to look at your calls, and you can select "recieved" or "sent" or whatever. But then if you just press the call or send button, it automatically brings up a list of all calls (sent and recieved) and you can just select one of them and hit call again and it calls that number.

That is the most basic thing I would expect any phone to have, and it's how I make 99% of my phone calls.

Why not change that useless home button to a call/send button instead?
What does the home button do? Take you home.
The end button will take you home too, so what is the point in having a dedicated button for that and not having a call/send button which would be very usefull?

By the way, I have apparently the old version of the software, but I tried to check for updates and it said none were available.

I'll vouch that all of the changes in the above post have been made. I got lucky - I didn't get my phone until yesterday (April Cool, so all I've known is this latest version of the software.

I like the phone, but it will take some getting used to. But since I'm coming from a phone that couldn't hold a charge anymore, ANYTHING is better than 8 hours of standby and 15 minutes of talk time!

I only got mine about a week ago, but it's the old version of the software. Sad

Take it to a Verizon store. I took mine there because I had like 200 phone numbers I wanted them to transfer. I guess they updated the software at the same time.

I guess I'm going to have to hit the Verizon store this weekend.  Have you noticed any difference in the accuracy of the touch screen (calibration issue)?

What about being able to delete old call logs without having to do it ONE entry at a time!
And get rid of the icons when a user generated video is being played.

you could always delete more than one at a time- just swipe from left to right on any one, then a 'select all' menu pops up on the bottom.
but no for the programmable icons

I just got my Krave a couple of days ago and it has the speed dial upgrade, which is great. I can’t believe Motorola or Verizon let the Krave out the door without speed dial included in the software. Anyway I’m suggesting an enhancement to it. (To be added to kirkkravers’ excellent wish list)

Allow the dialpad and speed dial apps to be active with the flip closed. Alternately allowing dailpad to be one of the 4 apps available with the flip closed. Either way this would be a speakerphone call so opening the flip during a call should just revert to the earpiece.
As long as you keep it on the speakerphone this would make a speed dial call a 1 or 2 step process.
