does anyone know how to change the camcorder from 20 seconds recording to letting the user stop it themselves??? thanks

I don't think there's a way.

I hate when manufacturers do that (Motorola  Angry), what is it for? To save space? Why can't I manage my own space on my own phone, especially on my own SD card?

When you are in camcorder mode, touch the 'video camera' icon in the bottom right corner (just underneath the + - zoom buttons). 

This will allow you to switch between MMS mode and "unlimited" mode (60 minutes).

verizon likes the 20 second as default so you can send it in an mms message so they can make some more $$ from you. too bad the unlimited record length is hidden because of that.
